Originally from Connecticut, Dr. DeSandre received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2009. She is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture and Veterinary Business Management. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. DeSandre went on to complete her Small Animal Surgery residency with Affiliated Veterinary Specialistsin Florida. She then spent a year as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery at Purdue University in Indiana.

Dr. DeSandre’s professional areas of interest include: oncologic surgery, comparative oncology, reconstructive surgery, oral maxillofacial surgery, wound management, minimally invasive surgery, and interventional radiology.

When Dr. DeSandre is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her pet family includes Zack, a 16 year old Silky Terrier, and Logan, a 6 year old mixed breed dog. Her and her husband, Nick, are ecstatic to be moving to California and Dr. DeSandre is very much looking forward to working alongside a wonderful group of people at California Veterinary Specialists.
